Frequently Asked Questions
For FAQs about organizational culture and leadership, please visit the Q&A page from our webinar “Sustaining Top Talent through Positive Culture and Leadership.”
Q. Do I need to be certified/accredited to use Human Synergistics tools?
A. We do not require that you be certified/accredited in order to use Human
Synergistics products in the U.S., however we offer two workshops that provide
highly valuable learning around product administration, interpretation, and
debriefing. Please click here for information regarding
The Foundation Workshop and The Advanced Workshop.
Q. How do I place an order?
A. If you work with a particular office, it is in your best interest to
continue working with that office so that we can provide personalized customer
service. If you are new to Human Synergistics, please contact the office
nearest to you via either e-mail or telephone. An HSI representative will help
determine the best solutions for your application.
Q. How long does a project that requires HSI scoring services take to complete
from start to finish?
A. HSI scoring services are required for computer-scored assessments as well as
many of the online assessments. The length of a project depends on a number of
factors including the amount of time required to collect data from
participants, which is usually two weeks. A typical project takes four to six
weeks total, which includes set-up, data collection, and report processing
time.
Q. HSI prides itself on “well-researched assessments”; what exactly
does this mean and what is the benefit to me?
A. Specifically, we collect data on all of our surveys in order to ensure that
our assessments are statistically valid and reliable, meaning that they measure
what they are supposed to measure and they do so consistently so that results
can be confidently compared over time. We also collect data to construct
"norms" for many of our surveys. Norms enable you to compare your
results to those of others and can be used to remove the effects of social
desirability bias from raw scores. Moreover, we use "research data"
as opposed to "client data" to norm our organizational-level surveys.
This is important with organizational-level surveys because research data is
based on random selection, whereas client data is not. The use of research data
for norming organizational-level surveys enables us to provide clients with
comparative data that show larger scale ranges as well as higher scale averages
and benchmarks than would be the case if client data were used.
