LSI Conflict™

 

 

A customized application of the Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI), LSI Conflict is a confidential self-assessment that helps people analyze and understand whether their thinking and behavior helps or blocks their ability to deal constructively with conflict situations.

Audience: Appropriate for all individuals, including organizational members across levels and functional areas

Most Frequently Used for:

  • Promoting awareness of the different approaches people use to negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Helping individuals at all organizational levels learn to deal with conflict in a more collaborative and integrative manner
  • Improving the effectiveness of work teams through constructive communication
  • Enhancing cooperation and integrative problem solving throughout the organization

Time Required: 15-20 minutes to complete the inventory

Format: Paper Self-Scored

Feedback Provided: The LSI Conflict self-description inventory measures 12 specific conflict resolution styles—including those that are constructive and support the achievement of “win-win” results as well as those that are Defensive and lead to suboptimal results. The Self-Development Guide includes a Self-Improvement Planner to help individuals formulate goals and enhance their conflict styles.

Presentation of Results: On a modified version of the circumplex, specific to conflict-management styles, normed on the basis of 9,000 respondents

Associated Outcomes: Research shows that the LSI Conflict styles are related to quality of interpersonal relations and solution quality in group-problem solving exercises.
